Successful Strategies for Extensive Reading. Jacobs, G. M., Davis, C., & Renandya, W. A. (Eds.). (1997). Successful strategies for extensive reading. Singapore: SEAMEO Regional Language Centre. This is a book I co-edited. The authors describe different aspects of the implementation of extensive reading. Because the book is now out-of-print, it can only be ordered online, from sites, such as Amazon, that do used books.


Review of Extensive Reading in the Second Language Classroom by Richard Day and Julian Bamford. This book provides a comprehensive overview of extensive reading for second language learners.

Review of Promoting Reading in Developing Countries. This book, edited by Vincent Greaney of the World Bank, begin with chapter on theory and research related to the benefits of extensive reading. The other chapters deal with accounts of efforts to establish ER programmes, build publishing industries, and obtain ER materials.
